James Traub will discuss his new book The Best Intentions: Kofi Annan and the UN in the Era of Anerican World Power. James Traub is a contributing writer for The New York Times Magazine, where he has worked since 1998. He has also written for The New York Review of Books, Foreign Affairs, The Atlantic Monthly, The New Republic and elsewhere. He has written extensively about international afairs, and especially the United Nations.

Paula Marantz Cohen will discuss her latest book Jane Austin in Scarsdale or Love, Death and the Sats. Paula Marantz Cohen (BA yale; Ph.D. Columbia) is Distinguished Professor of English at Drexel University, where she teaches literature, film, and creative writing. Her other novels include Jane Austen in Boca, and Much Ado about Jessie Kaplan. She has also written four non-fiction books, and has had essays and stories published in various publications. She is the host of the Drexel Interview, a cable television show based in Philadelphia, and is a co-editor of jml: The Journal of Modern Literature.
