Edwin Kriegsman Jr.
Edwin "Ned" Kriegsman Jr., 74, died on Sunday Oct. 19, 2008, at Englewood Hospital. Burial services were held on Monday, Oct. 20, at Salem Fields Cemetery in Brooklyn, N.Y., and were attended by immediate family. An open house memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 2-4 p.m. in Fellowship Hall at the First Congregational Church, 276 Haworth Ave., Haworth. Born in New York City, Mr. Kriegsman grew up in Scarsdale, N.Y. He resided in Berkeley Heights for 36 years prior to moving to Haworth. He was a graduate of Hobart College and served as a commander in the Naval Reserves. Mr. Kriegsman worked in retail and manufacturing in New York, and was an active volunteer in the community. He was a board member of the Summit United Way, the Berkeley Heights Environmental Commission and Zoning Boards, and the Haworth Shade Tree Commission. In addition to his wife Margaret (Miz) Psaltis-Kriegsman, he is survived by his children, Mark Kriegsman and Suzanne Kriegsman; and three granddaughters. He will be remembered especially for his whimsical sense of humor. Donations may be made to the Borough of Haworth Shade Tree Commission (Borough of Haworth, marked for the HSTC, 300 Haworth Ave. Haworth 07641), or to the American Heart Association.>
